Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Travels today took us from Otsego Lake State Park, up I-75 heading yet further north.  We crossed the Mackinac Bridge under grayish skies. We rode all the way over behind a slow moving truck. Not sure what was up or why he was travelling so slowly. We just rode on behind him.

At the end of the bridge the toll booth was pretty busy, but we got through quick enough.

Once we got through the gateway to the Upper Peninsula, we were zeroed in on getting to the park. We'd been trying to get into Straits State Park, but unable to make a reservation, either online, or by phone. So this morning Nana got on the website and lo and behold, was able to make a reservation, only one site available but just look at our cozy little spot.

The site has a really nice firepit, and a picnic table, well all Michigan State Parks seem to have those, but it's placed pretty nicely for us. I had to get out our rug and two chairs so we could sit and have our evening cocktails.
